Puff Lace Crochet Stitch Pattern
✅Stitch Guide for This Pattern
Stitch key (based on the chart symbols):
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- tr = treble crochet (sometimes appears as taller stitch)
- puff st = puff stitch (usually 3–4 unfinished dc drawn together)
- sl st = slip stitch
🌸 Foundation:
Make a multiple of 10 chains + 6 for turning.
🔹 Row 1:
Starting in the 6th chain from hook:
1 dc in each chain across.
(You’ll have a solid base row of double crochets.)
🔹 Row 2:
This row begins the lace pattern.
1. Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1).
2. Skip 1 stitch, dc in next stitch, ch 2, skip 2, 1 dc in next — repeat across the row.
This creates small chain spaces across.
🔹 Row 3: (Puff Stitch Row)
1. Ch 3 (counts as dc).
2. 1 dc in the same stitch.
3. Ch 1, skip 1 space, in next space make a puff stitch (yarn over, insert hook, pull up loop — repeat 3 times, yarn over and pull through all loops), ch 3, make another puff stitch in the same space.
4. Ch 1, skip 2 dc, dc in next — repeat from * to * across.
End with 2 dc at the end of the row.
🔹 Row 4:
Repeat Row 2 (chains and dc spaces).
Repeat Rows 2 and 4
Continue repeating these rows for the length of your project.
✨ Pattern Notes:
- Each puff cluster forms a flower-like V-shape.
- The openwork rows (Row 2 and Row 4) keep the design airy.
- You can use cotton or bamboo yarn for a soft drape.
